James Benning’s first film called The United States of America was a 1975 trip across the country, capturing its scenery through a car windshield. This second one also crisscrosses the nation, but without a car, carving it up instead into a series of static shots of just under two minutes, one for each state, presented alphabetically, from Heron Bay, Alabama to Kelly, Wyoming. The names of the places are nondescript, but the images attached to them are anything but, immaculately composed shots of landscape, cityscape and the spaces in between. As we move from A to Z, the images coalesce into a portrait of today’s USA, tracing out its fault lines almost in passing: fenced-off facilities, a river bed running dry, factories and refineries, run-down streets and gas stations, a camp under a bridge. The past is there too, seeping up through the songs and speeches that sporadically pierce the background noise or the motifs that evoke a whole career; the clouds, trains and cabins are stand-ins for films, not just states. As always, there’s time for more abstract thoughts too: each image may stand for a state, but representativity is slippery. Which state is more cinematic than the rest?
整体还行吧。大家能看出纪实，反而不犀利了。我比较喜欢“白宫零食”那段，简单而切中要害。

编排问题，无法与人物共情。批判讽刺在我看来也无可置评，小李子那段咆哮与当年电视台风云的那段咆哮比起来，还是差点意思。片尾的崩坏有些触动，但总体无法投入更多情感。
临近结局时我突然想到了《火星救援》和《死在火星上》，突然希望当时的火星之上还有个马克达蒙（不是）和唐跃。但结局又是如此………《银河系漫游指南》，就像你看着海豚从海里飞升一般的荒诞，又会充满蜜汁感动：陨石真美啊，草，人类果然还是毁灭吧。
全片我笑得最响的包袱似乎是幕僚长为“stuff”祈祷……我真的是贯通中外的谐音烂梗爱好者。（可能这几年现实过于生草，一部超长星光SNL已经有点让我不为所动了）
随便看看还不错，傻乎乎但好真实，反正经历过新冠我现在觉得发生啥闹剧都不意外了，六个月算什么，这场闹剧可以演上两三年。
非常怪异的观感，模糊了喜剧和闹剧的界限，至少于我个人而言。

Facts Don’t Care About Your Feelings
这片儿虽然是在疫情前拍摄的，但魔幻的是：情节对照特朗普在疫情期间干的那些事儿和美国的现状，不能说十分相似，只能讲一毛一样！从里到外把美国的政客丑恶嘴脸老百姓的愚昧无知和资本家的唯利是图展现得淋漓尽致，前半段还挺严肃，后半段直接起飞变成荒诞剧，世界末日了，中国搞《流浪地球》，到了美国就是《不要抬头》白左红脖子懂王马斯克一一可以带入，格局啊，美利坚已经烂透了！少数人的逃生就是有钱人的逃生，格局如此，想想那部《2012》，都多少年了，老美还是没啥格局上的进步，毕竟资本主义国家，自私自利可是受法律保护的，精致利己则是一种道德风尚！小李子演得不错，从造型到说话风格都是另一个人，唯唯诺诺安于享乐的小科学家。
符合时宜的荒诞讽刺剧，说真话的人才疯了，套路太熟悉一切都很无奈。
对一打演员的运用确实没比国内全明星阵容片好哪里去，甚至很多时候是靠明星来维持观众对角色的注意力。
ps.国语配音不错。有老翻译腔的舒服、自然的感觉。
并没有提供什么新的思考。喜见Mark Rylance。
表演都很扎实，故事荒唐可笑但又无奈可悲，政治生命皆是生意。普通人为有钱人卖命还被吸血，浩劫面前只能卑微的死去，甚至都不知道还有“方舟”的存在，最后活下来的却是有钱有权的人，托着一身赘肉和肮脏的思想来到新的星球传承人类的基因……
3.5. Didn't quite get the overwhelming hate this film got. The satire here is not particularly intelligent nor incisive, but that seems fitting when reality is more mundanely grotesque than fiction: it's almost like the real world does not deserve to be treated in a more aesthetically profound manner. The sense of helpless anger and disbelief at the state of the world is quite genuine, and there are emotional moments that work quite well. It's a typically white and star-studded mainstream film, and that's okay.
喜剧灾难片，但人性才是灾难的根本，虽然荒诞却无比真实，节奏略慢，需要耐折性子往下看。
