The story appears simple on the surface, but is revealed, especially after multiple viewings, as more multi-layered and textured than Cassavetes at his best. Ostensibly it concerns a 14-year old Catholic girl, Wynne (Agutter) growing up in this post-modern wasteland, who develops a crush on her much older adoptive brother (Marshall)- a crush which perversely deepens and grows into infatuation once she starts to believe he is the local sex killer. This is in itself an idea that makes you sit up and jolt, but as the narrative develops, it continues not necessarily along a linear path but in several confusing and fascinating directions: the family's history, (detailed effectively in chilling flashback during an improvised seance) is a chequered one, and has suffered at least one major relocation and upheaval in the last ten years. At the crux, however, it's the depiction of socialal changes that make I Start Counting so fascinating and elevate its language far beyond the confines of the standard horror film. The major subtext- that teenage girls were maturing more quickly than before, and developing full sexual and romantic appetites (even if in thought rather than deed) but were not possessed of enough discretion to make the right choices- was a step forward for a genre in which its young females had previously been portrayed as bimbo victims (Cover Girl Killer and The Night Caller spring to mind), but not one that all viewers would necessarily agree with. But most striking of all, and possibly the most enduring image which the viewer will take away with them, is of the masterful symbolism with which director Greene invests every shot. Every inch of the Kinch family's world- their house, their walls, their TV, Agutters underwear, bedroom furniture and toys, Sutcliffe's clothes, Marshalls van, the local Catholic church, their town centre, their record shop) - is painted a bright, scintillating white- a white which, by inference, is slowly becoming smudged and corrupted with the dirt of the outside world. White also symbolises, of course, purity and innocence (two qualities Catholic schoolgirls are supposed to hold dear), and it is into this world of innocence that the ever-present red bus (a symbol of violation and penetration), conducted by the lecherous yet similarly juvenile Simon Ward, makes regular journeys. The allegory is further expanded in one scene where Agutter believes she sees the Christ figure in church weeping blood: by the time we acknowledge it, its gone, but the seed has already been planted. Rarely in a genre production has the use of colour and background been so important or effective in creating a uniformity of mood. I Start Counting is as near-perfect an end to a decade as one could hope for, and exactly the kind of film people should be making now- which is, of course, exactly why they never will. 搞的神神秘秘的，小说家写的故事似乎是真实，但反转过来，就那么一件小破事
蓝光原盘，音画效果一流，风景如画。剧情：在山顶“一个男人在作，一女个人在救”但故事里的故事却是悲剧的背景……（美女老了！55岁了，岁月不饶人啊！）
刷完6季黑道家族再来看前传，只能说是情怀了，Uncle Jonior一点搞笑情节都没有，Tony的儿子还真是一个模子刻出来的，最后的音乐绝了，总之是情怀大于剧情的电影，终究扣题了T母说的，He is a Saint
没看过剧听着旁白自述观影会一路莫名其妙，影片跟旁白毫无关系，很尴尬。
直接叫Many Saints in Wakanda吧. 烂活.
两星半，东一榔捶西一棒头的，感觉像是看了一集没头没尾的电视剧。视角混乱，单场戏的叙事效率太低，感觉就是挨个儿点了一下soprano家花名册，或者看了一个饭拍的前传的感觉
导演说 我就是要骗你们这一群傻缺 不从开头就骗你们谁他妈来看这烂片啊？
有点意思又不太够，感觉故事本身应该挺巧妙的，但拍出来却不够精彩
一星给长度，毕竟两小时的莫名其妙比一小时半难办到！导演很努力地在讲故事了，虽然我没听懂，但是看到了苦工。嗐。
还是挺真实的。尽量生活化了。剧情太多，篇幅太短，应该做成电视剧。
大概说了一个不入流的二流子作家 喜好把别人隐私枉加猜测写成书。博了眼球被告后导致穷困潦倒 去小县城做龟公时撞上些世故的故事。整体完成度不错，演员表现 除了有点日系特有的形式主义外，没啥硬伤。其他器材道具摄影布景等等相关工种，没有明显瑕疵。属于专业团队，按部就班出品。只是这叙事方法，想搞个多线叙事主线穿的黑幽默。结果玩显了。
看的糊里糊涂!云里雾里!前一个小时完全没看明白!后面揭秘了，才算搞明白!有点类似于刺杀小说家吧！不过故意做的很混淆。本来是冲着土屋太凤去看的。没想到她基本就类似于比客串多几分钟戏而已!
阵势不小，其实内容很平淡，故事很简单，一切都容易预料。还好给了Nivola很大的空间。
看过Sopranos的应该很难接受这么部左派献礼，虽然可以理解。
想法挺有野心，但把一季电视剧的量压成一部电影看着就又累又毛躁了
所以永远不要嘲笑一个跌倒的人，他有可能摔碎了蛋蛋。。。用这黑色幽默来结束故事实在有点荒谬
所以最后是鸡腿了啥？什么个鸡腿法？？？怎么鸡腿？？？？🆘
只有西野是可爱的。剧情作为“悬疑”非常无力。

本来是黑帮片，慢慢成心理咨询了……那个情妇说自己跟黑人啪啪啪的环节，真是完全不合理。
