The story appears simple on the surface, but is revealed, especially after multiple viewings, as more multi-layered and textured than Cassavetes at his best. Ostensibly it concerns a 14-year old Catholic girl, Wynne (Agutter) growing up in this post-modern wasteland, who develops a crush on her much older adoptive brother (Marshall)- a crush which perversely deepens and grows into infatuation once she starts to believe he is the local sex killer. This is in itself an idea that makes you sit up and jolt, but as the narrative develops, it continues not necessarily along a linear path but in several confusing and fascinating directions: the family's history, (detailed effectively in chilling flashback during an improvised seance) is a chequered one, and has suffered at least one major relocation and upheaval in the last ten years. At the crux, however, it's the depiction of socialal changes that make I Start Counting so fascinating and elevate its language far beyond the confines of the standard horror film. The major subtext- that teenage girls were maturing more quickly than before, and developing full sexual and romantic appetites (even if in thought rather than deed) but were not possessed of enough discretion to make the right choices- was a step forward for a genre in which its young females had previously been portrayed as bimbo victims (Cover Girl Killer and The Night Caller spring to mind), but not one that all viewers would necessarily agree with. But most striking of all, and possibly the most enduring image which the viewer will take away with them, is of the masterful symbolism with which director Greene invests every shot. Every inch of the Kinch family's world- their house, their walls, their TV, Agutters underwear, bedroom furniture and toys, Sutcliffe's clothes, Marshalls van, the local Catholic church, their town centre, their record shop) - is painted a bright, scintillating white- a white which, by inference, is slowly becoming smudged and corrupted with the dirt of the outside world. White also symbolises, of course, purity and innocence (two qualities Catholic schoolgirls are supposed to hold dear), and it is into this world of innocence that the ever-present red bus (a symbol of violation and penetration), conducted by the lecherous yet similarly juvenile Simon Ward, makes regular journeys. The allegory is further expanded in one scene where Agutter believes she sees the Christ figure in church weeping blood: by the time we acknowledge it, its gone, but the seed has already been planted. Rarely in a genre production has the use of colour and background been so important or effective in creating a uniformity of mood. I Start Counting is as near-perfect an end to a decade as one could hope for, and exactly the kind of film people should be making now- which is, of course, exactly why they never will. 很楚门，尤其“大海”这一关键元素。还挺喜欢男女主的设定，专心搞代码直到最后才幡然醒悟，而Guy可以说就是男主为自己创造的游戏映像（理工人啊！）不过最近看的新片反派为什么都跟有大病一样-_-||| Ps.好多怪怪的情节啊！揉胸公主抱是什么鬼！Buddy最后解下的我以为是裤腰带……“在这里你想干什么就干什么哦！”【大家都爱cheek to cheek！
看下来也没当时宣传的那么好嘛，也就70分的样子。论彩蛋，无论如何也敌不过《头号玩家》。希望类似的玩家系列不要像XX总动员那样泛滥，毕竟挖彩蛋这种事，做个一两次也就够了，再多就烂。| I'm a love letter for you.
特效不错，男主角视角的选择也不错，对AR、VR的期待更多了些。

比较零碎，世界观设定、观念、人物、观念都比较普通，靠调皮台词醒脑，钱老板骚舞和dude脑残比较好笑。让人想起、但又远不如楚门和头号玩家，没觉得这致敬有多好，只觉得好像是有点玩砸了。两星半
不好看。我对小贱贱审美疲劳了😪而且为啥觉醒要靠真爱啊，这不就是个illusion吗。现状是：非romance里面充满了对爱的幻想，真正解构反思幻想的romance 反倒被人看不起。
还挺搞笑的，特效也不错，就是剧情实在是有点蠢

本来想打两星，不过我同行的朋友坚持让我打一星。

最近最戳我的一部，GTA还是输给了The Sims…没想到再一次看到美队是在这里。真爱之吻和解放自由永远有效，程序员浪漫起来简直不是人…贱贱好帅～（吐槽一下，每次在外国电影里关于中国的画面能不能不要这么脏乱差…改变一下刻板印象吧…）最后，保护版权，人人有责。
近于《头号玩家》的姐妹篇，虽然结尾太迪士尼，维提提过于爱演，但题材有趣，且能用小细节设计连接起不同位面观众。迪士尼还是财大气粗啊。
好白 全家看完之后进行woke出警批判白人男女主+real world/游戏都是黑人小哥辅助+invisible asians. 楚门2077打怪dystopia设定有些换汤不换药了 我老了 跟不上年轻人审美🙂（同样cheek to cheek好评朱迪科默我们爱你）something’s way too wrong, 唔好意思要减一星 ai lives matter我们期待看直面现实突突人类的Dolores and Ex Machina这样
不错不错，适合放松观看。肖恩导演和瑞安合作的电影还蛮合我的胃口。3D画面很赞。
过程很happy，爆笑不断，到对打肌肉男时达到高峰，我们国家有类似的是不是也可以顺手拿出个金箍棒之类的。结尾很忧伤。英雄也当了，世界也拯救了，可之后呢？以前还有固定任务，是在战火中挖掘出的可贵人心。但现在“神灵”为npc们设计了舒适的环境，不需要去奋斗，那能做些什么呢？好像npc们失去了生活的目标。
比游戏里更NPC的是那个一直跟着Keys离开的保安。另外个人觉得最炸的一个梗是让黑人说出“Our lives matter”的台词。
谁说代码不是情诗的，DNA狠狠地动了。
