The story appears simple on the surface, but is revealed, especially after multiple viewings, as more multi-layered and textured than Cassavetes at his best. Ostensibly it concerns a 14-year old Catholic girl, Wynne (Agutter) growing up in this post-modern wasteland, who develops a crush on her much older adoptive brother (Marshall)- a crush which perversely deepens and grows into infatuation once she starts to believe he is the local sex killer. This is in itself an idea that makes you sit up and jolt, but as the narrative develops, it continues not necessarily along a linear path but in several confusing and fascinating directions: the family's history, (detailed effectively in chilling flashback during an improvised seance) is a chequered one, and has suffered at least one major relocation and upheaval in the last ten years. At the crux, however, it's the depiction of socialal changes that make I Start Counting so fascinating and elevate its language far beyond the confines of the standard horror film. The major subtext- that teenage girls were maturing more quickly than before, and developing full sexual and romantic appetites (even if in thought rather than deed) but were not possessed of enough discretion to make the right choices- was a step forward for a genre in which its young females had previously been portrayed as bimbo victims (Cover Girl Killer and The Night Caller spring to mind), but not one that all viewers would necessarily agree with. But most striking of all, and possibly the most enduring image which the viewer will take away with them, is of the masterful symbolism with which director Greene invests every shot. Every inch of the Kinch family's world- their house, their walls, their TV, Agutters underwear, bedroom furniture and toys, Sutcliffe's clothes, Marshalls van, the local Catholic church, their town centre, their record shop) - is painted a bright, scintillating white- a white which, by inference, is slowly becoming smudged and corrupted with the dirt of the outside world. White also symbolises, of course, purity and innocence (two qualities Catholic schoolgirls are supposed to hold dear), and it is into this world of innocence that the ever-present red bus (a symbol of violation and penetration), conducted by the lecherous yet similarly juvenile Simon Ward, makes regular journeys. The allegory is further expanded in one scene where Agutter believes she sees the Christ figure in church weeping blood: by the time we acknowledge it, its gone, but the seed has already been planted. Rarely in a genre production has the use of colour and background been so important or effective in creating a uniformity of mood. I Start Counting is as near-perfect an end to a decade as one could hope for, and exactly the kind of film people should be making now- which is, of course, exactly why they never will. 本身算一部差强人意的赌博片吧。但作为原著慢漫的忠粉，真的很难忍这种明珠暗投的扼腕之叹啊。
一星给流星，一星给白石，一星给久违的本乡，剧情实在是有点烂，完全是靠几个明星的颜艺支撑着。

一家人被困在家里，随着时间的流逝，食物逐渐短缺，一天又一天，一家人的心情越来越糟糕……这天，一家人吃完了最后一点存粮，大人们望着空空的碗碟一筹莫展，唉声叹气道：什么也没有了……这时，最小的孩子眼神懵懂地望向家人们，不解道：我们还有彼此啊[爱心]
稀烂！综合各国元素但又拍的不伦不类！哎……还是多出点像哭声之类有点文化底蕴的片子吧
预告片也太诈骗了，冲流星颜值可以看，冲剧情来就快跑，鬼牌那个游戏不仅没紧张感还有点尴尬。。本以为和赌博有关会拍出很多花样，，好吧，只能说很中二～
未能将传说与实际充分结合以形成隐喻及映射，惊悚场面有限，怪物设计老套，整体氛围构建上佳，恐怖片元素齐全，细节刻画充足，6/10。
每个单元剧的男女演员的演技怎么会如此拙劣，这部电影的编剧应该是在打瞌睡写出来的吧！
说实话叉队是真的帅啊，但是那个人偶的鬼故事，我真服了，就是一死变态馋叉队身子，把他变成人偶搞强制爱是吧，气死我了，让我先搞😠
冥婚那个女鬼洗干净仿佛也可以来一发嘛，大半夜的都看硬了
高潮抽鬼牌情节的张力不足，为了捧人给二番加戏，更可怕的是加了戏也没交代清楚。结尾竟然还想拍续集这不是烂片是什么。这部作品唯一贡献可能只是解锁了横滨流星的一个发色。
评分还是不能不信啊。

很奇怪的作品，属于没有看过原著漫画的路人观众，但剧情理解没有一点障碍，明明关卡设置还是挺有意思的，节奏也很快，但不知道为什么就是觉得不怎么好看，也许选角有点问题？就是感觉一般般，大概岛国观众观感一样，日本院线上映后票房也是扑街了
“我必须喂它！”
本片唯一的匠心用在如何让尸体变得更恶心上头了。
