John Madden在《斯隆女士》六年后的回归，依然细致揣摩选择事件中的波云诡谲，也同样谨慎对待它的材料。擅用各个部门，也尽可能地做到滴水不漏；虽然这造成的后果是几分完全能够解决的沉闷（尤其是读到史实信息后，会觉得或许改编能够允许有些微娱乐效果、突出“奇”与“不可能”的松弛空间），但它还是足够吸引人继续和当中的故事继续下去。比之于早前同选择于Netflix亮相的《慕尼黑：战争边缘》，更加成熟的表演帮助了它获得更出色的效果；Penelope Wilton，在有限的亮相里迅速击中人心，想要看到未来某刻有她领衔的女性向二战背景片。
