The Freebie centers on Darren (Shepard) and Annie (Aselton), a young married couple with an enviable relationship built on love trust and communication. Darren and Annie still enjoy each other’s company and laugh at each other’s jokes, but, unfortunately, they can’t remember the last time they had sex. When a dinner party conversation leads to an honest discussion about the state of their love life, and when a sexy bikini photo shoot leads to crossword puzzles instead of sex, they begin to flirt with a way to spice things up. The deal: one night of freedom, no strings attached, no questions asked. Could a freebie be the cure for their ailing sex life? And will they go through with it? With a keen eye and fresh take, Aselton’s directorial debut shines with crisp storytelling and fine-tuned performances. 本片靈感來源於王家衛的《春光乍泄》，然而卻深受泰倫斯馬力克影響，無論在畫面經營，還是創作方式都試圖打造出一種虛構和現實結合的電影境界。趙婷延續《騎士》中個人掙扎和身份認同的命題，呈現人在文明和荒野之間的生存狀態。導演手法淡然平實，相對泰倫斯馬力克的作品無疑更商業化，也充滿了療癒的力量。只是本片在表現社會問題里有點模棱兩可，既要表達社會制度問題，卻把遊牧寫成了個人選擇（放棄安逸只為追求自由），削弱了批判的力量。

没有工作、家庭、金钱、房子的时候我们如何生活，为何而活。也许只有失去这一切、甚至主动放弃这一切的人，才是那在暴风雨中乘风破浪奋力翱翔的倔强海鸥，才最接近生命的真谛。诗意又有趣，悲伤又温暖。

弗恩从内华达出发到亚利桑那、犹他州再到加州，这也是我们当年走的美西grand circle大环线的路线。估计是赵婷男友的设备经费有限，美西的辽阔壮美在我看来是没有拍出来的。尤其到结尾在加州一号公路，阴沉的天，弗恩微笑的面对大风大浪的海岸，这寓意很赞。但一号公路真不是这样阴暗丑陋的，那是加州的精华
拒绝港湾，回到最初梦碎的地方，然后再转身继续走下去。真正的公路片。
#生肉食用#费恩走过的其实也就是我们正在走的这条路，有时喧嚣多数孤寂，望穿无际的荒凉背后，仍有暖暖的阳光洒在远山之上。没有太多起伏，没有太多意外，但也从来没想过放弃。这种生活是否可以主导自己的自由和骄傲，是被迫选择还是心甘情愿，辛酸与无奈背后或许也还藏着一些浪漫与乐观。。
还有一个感动我的，房车营地营地有人去世，每个人都往火堆里扔她最喜欢的石头，费恩扔进去了一块巨大的。
