The story appears simple on the surface, but is revealed, especially after multiple viewings, as more multi-layered and textured than Cassavetes at his best. Ostensibly it concerns a 14-year old Catholic girl, Wynne (Agutter) growing up in this post-modern wasteland, who develops a crush on her much older adoptive brother (Marshall)- a crush which perversely deepens and grows into infatuation once she starts to believe he is the local sex killer. This is in itself an idea that makes you sit up and jolt, but as the narrative develops, it continues not necessarily along a linear path but in several confusing and fascinating directions: the family's history, (detailed effectively in chilling flashback during an improvised seance) is a chequered one, and has suffered at least one major relocation and upheaval in the last ten years. At the crux, however, it's the depiction of socialal changes that make I Start Counting so fascinating and elevate its language far beyond the confines of the standard horror film. The major subtext- that teenage girls were maturing more quickly than before, and developing full sexual and romantic appetites (even if in thought rather than deed) but were not possessed of enough discretion to make the right choices- was a step forward for a genre in which its young females had previously been portrayed as bimbo victims (Cover Girl Killer and The Night Caller spring to mind), but not one that all viewers would necessarily agree with. But most striking of all, and possibly the most enduring image which the viewer will take away with them, is of the masterful symbolism with which director Greene invests every shot. Every inch of the Kinch family's world- their house, their walls, their TV, Agutters underwear, bedroom furniture and toys, Sutcliffe's clothes, Marshalls van, the local Catholic church, their town centre, their record shop) - is painted a bright, scintillating white- a white which, by inference, is slowly becoming smudged and corrupted with the dirt of the outside world. White also symbolises, of course, purity and innocence (two qualities Catholic schoolgirls are supposed to hold dear), and it is into this world of innocence that the ever-present red bus (a symbol of violation and penetration), conducted by the lecherous yet similarly juvenile Simon Ward, makes regular journeys. The allegory is further expanded in one scene where Agutter believes she sees the Christ figure in church weeping blood: by the time we acknowledge it, its gone, but the seed has already been planted. Rarely in a genre production has the use of colour and background been so important or effective in creating a uniformity of mood. I Start Counting is as near-perfect an end to a decade as one could hope for, and exactly the kind of film people should be making now- which is, of course, exactly why they never will. This is only the beginning...一度以为要再现人与沙虫的名场面了 结果还是把悬念留到了下集 只在片尾小小客串；细腻而富有层次的声场 搭配IMAX独占画幅和巨大音量 可以说把沙丘世界观下的生物死物都囊括其中 算是能排到前几位的IMAX 2D体验
@太阳宫寰映IMAX 2D 想不出比维伦纽瓦更适合改编这部的导演了，也想不出比甜茶更适合这个角色的演员。甜茶有一种高贵又疏离的气质，纤弱到感觉他很难在这个险象环生的星球生存。所以他的成长和蜕变格外吸引人。Jessica也好飒，母子dynamics很强。摄影美绝，沙漠也流动着诗意。梦境和现实交织的亦真亦幻感恰到好处。纯论故事线而言还挺容易沦为二三流动作片的，但导演的审美和掌控力确保了它不落窠臼。要说稍微有点缺憾的话可能是配乐，有点太Hans Zimmer. 稍微安静一点，留白多点也许会更细腻，更维伦纽瓦。
你可以永遠對Denis Villeneuve抱有期待。鮮有臉譜化的人物，幾乎每一個角色都含蓄而内斂。獨特的光線搭配小景深的臉部特寫，傳來一種柔和的壓迫感。影片中時常掠過的慢鏡，并不爲了炫技動作，而是帶有一種無比莊嚴的史詩感。巨物場景相當震撼且散發著恐懼，無論是巨型母艦和飛行器還是沙蟲，甚至是Baron本人浮空的畫面也是如此令人發怵。影片的故事沒有特別出衆的地方，但是搭配異域風格的打擊樂和吟唱，總有一些場景和畫面令人印象深刻過目難忘。你可以發現，Denis在耐心地講一個故事，它并非洶湧的滔天巨浪，而似山澗的涓涓細流，神秘而雋永。
没看过原著 就这影片来看有点无聊。设置了一个大数字年份 但除了异星旅行等小部分元素外 生活习惯、交战方式、沟通交流模式等却完全匹配不上这个年代应有的科技水平。过分平铺直叙的方式搭上156分钟的影长简直是煎熬（等了好久赞达亚才真正登场也是够了） 整个影片除了沙虫的出现其他的都没有科幻片的激情 打斗动作幼稚 对白故作深沉，所谓的【不明觉厉】感觉就是【明白了 但不厉】。甜茶也瘦得有点憔悴 这个《沙丘》的序曲太可惜了。
四星评价:牛蛙用摒弃主流商业节奏的顶级视听呈现了一出宇宙中世纪王子成人礼，期待新皇全宇加冕的戏码赶紧到来。

男主正脸好憨，只有某个角度可取，神经叨叨的宗教元素，不明白故事想说什么，故事想把剧情营造得很神秘就一直做春梦，很无聊，看了解说才能知道故事内容，可能需要看IMAX才好看吧，但我不想看第二次了，看讨论区沙丘小屁孩喷人打1分吧
20211105，IMAX。好久好久没去电影院看IMAX了，看完之后只有一个感受：活着真好。
视效音效顶级，把一个小家子气的文本鼓捣宏大了。运镜一如既往的稳重华丽，起势排山倒海不可阻挡，配乐轰轰隆隆，震麻了。
一定要看激光IMAX场，看完那个画面和音响效果才会懂得为什么那么多人推这部片，否则会误以为他是部垃圾片。

这是我在电影院看过的最令我难受的电影，配乐谁做的，以后一定要避雷
不是原著党。作为普通观众表示失望，编剧一定是Chris Chibnall，人物扁平还有废话台词，比如“他把门锁了”，这种CC式废话台词简直侮辱观众的智商。2001太空漫游还是神，沙丘第一部基本没有一个主旨，所有涉及的东西都没有深入，我觉得挺肤浅的（我觉得原著应该不会这样），2001太空漫游的哲学性依然吊打沙丘第一部。走马观花地看了一堆人打打杀杀，连奇观都算不上。我是感受不到宏大史诗感，反而觉得有低成本的小格局。佐氏构想的开头虽浮夸的但至少我觉得有新鲜感，这部真的就是从头到尾没有惊喜。虽然我知道想要佐氏蒐集的飞船设计是不可能的，但我是没想到这部里的设计能这么无聊。各个家族的辨识度太低了，整部色调还偏冷（当然可能是我选了一家不咋的影院），看到一半我都觉得他们是在极地而不是在沙漠，我有点受够好莱坞这种审美了。
美术，音乐，效果和整体氛围都太强了，甜茶怎么忽然变好帅！
