The Freebie centers on Darren (Shepard) and Annie (Aselton), a young married couple with an enviable relationship built on love trust and communication. When a dinner party conversation leads to an honest discussion about the state of their love life, and when a sexy bikini photo shoot leads to crossword puzzles instead of sex, they begin to flirt with a way to spice things up. 一开始觉得声音和监狱走廊的拉伸感蛮好的（质地接近升级版的广角麦芽糖？），但后来感觉这些乍看新奇的东西被很多倒胃口的设计拖下水了（比如说那种近似中国城市夜景的灯光秀）…… 在保罗施拉德的作品里比较次等。
又慢又平，或许结尾🈶惊喜，但现在看电影没人等到结尾。

质感出挑，单场戏很棒，整体却力有未逮，端着而无法下沉。倒是奥斯卡·伊萨克，头发一梳，从头有型到尾。
以为是好看的 其实 很乏味 表面上风格独特 其实无聊加没逻辑
牌场较量很有趣又出彩。
美军监狱里的刺激场景使拉斯维加斯的赌场黯然失色。

保罗•施拉德回归“房间里的男人”之作，回归的还有禁欲式的主角，带着伤痕和过去最后实现复仇
并没有那么差，但又的确很多时候并没有满足类型期待。
搞不懂女主角的存在意义，男二一个就能顶上她的作用。
和导演之前几部片子一脉相承，charlie two chins那段乳华了妈的
赌场精算钱稳赚，自律蒙布尘不染。
关于赌博和虐囚部分都很不错 但主角帮助男孩和放弃比赛的动机仍然缺乏必然性
中段冗长而毫无调度的对话戏太多了，几乎毁灭掉了观感。其实亮点还是比较明显的，把一个高概念的娱乐性的元素解构成逃避内心阴影的手段，从算牌的桥段中得不到任何心理上的爽感，而唯一的释放恰恰是主角最终割弃牌桌直面痛苦完成自我的救赎。问题就在于后者也并没有处理得很好……
