The story appears simple on the surface, but is revealed, especially after multiple viewings, as more multi-layered and textured than Cassavetes at his best. Ostensibly it concerns a 14-year old Catholic girl, Wynne (Agutter) growing up in this post-modern wasteland, who develops a crush on her much older adoptive brother (Marshall)- a crush which perversely deepens and grows into infatuation once she starts to believe he is the local sex killer. This is in itself an idea that makes you sit up and jolt, but as the narrative develops, it continues not necessarily along a linear path but in several confusing and fascinating directions: the family's history, (detailed effectively in chilling flashback during an improvised seance) is a chequered one, and has suffered at least one major relocation and upheaval in the last ten years. At the crux, however, it's the depiction of socialal changes that make I Start Counting so fascinating and elevate its language far beyond the confines of the standard horror film. The major subtext- that teenage girls were maturing more quickly than before, and developing full sexual and romantic appetites (even if in thought rather than deed) but were not possessed of enough discretion to make the right choices- was a step forward for a genre in which its young females had previously been portrayed as bimbo victims (Cover Girl Killer and The Night Caller spring to mind), but not one that all viewers would necessarily agree with. But most striking of all, and possibly the most enduring image which the viewer will take away with them, is of the masterful symbolism with which director Greene invests every shot. Every inch of the Kinch family's world- their house, their walls, their TV, Agutters underwear, bedroom furniture and toys, Sutcliffe's clothes, Marshalls van, the local Catholic church, their town centre, their record shop) - is painted a bright, scintillating white- a white which, by inference, is slowly becoming smudged and corrupted with the dirt of the outside world. White also symbolises, of course, purity and innocence (two qualities Catholic schoolgirls are supposed to hold dear), and it is into this world of innocence that the ever-present red bus (a symbol of violation and penetration), conducted by the lecherous yet similarly juvenile Simon Ward, makes regular journeys. The allegory is further expanded in one scene where Agutter believes she sees the Christ figure in church weeping blood: by the time we acknowledge it, its gone, but the seed has already been planted. Rarely in a genre production has the use of colour and background been so important or effective in creating a uniformity of mood. I Start Counting is as near-perfect an end to a decade as one could hope for, and exactly the kind of film people should be making now- which is, of course, exactly why they never will. 感觉就是看了一部大投资的小学生文笔的起点文。剧情根本就是在糊弄事，前一秒他希望变强，后一秒变强了，前一秒他想成为英雄，后一秒就成了，前一秒要团结群众，后一秒一成不变的小镇居民就罢工了。说小学生文笔，都辱了小学生了，男主角还是个三角小眼的大脖子病，演技像甲亢。
对“我们生活在虚假的世界”这种设定毫无抵抗力，无论是《楚门的世界》《刺杀小说家》还是《失控玩家》。
非常无聊且尴尬。首先作为科幻片，这个科技树点得太歪了，这么高级的AI都出来了为什么VR和AR还没出（？而且这个科技设定也并不具有较高的前瞻性，非常非常老。影片定位上也就是一卑微打工人的爽片。也像蜻蜓点水一般碰了点存在主义。这个爱情故事也很ntr，结尾很牵强...这部片与《楚门的世界》完全完全没有可比性or无法相提并论，可对标《上载新生》。
很搞笑，各种哈哈哈，尤其美队现身；没想到还是个反乌托邦励志片
創意還可以，但是什麼人工智能，自我意識，人和上帝都很老套了，最後跨紅海和彼岸烏托邦或許要提醒一句：都已經提出罷工了，卻還是在數字裡面，然後回到不殺人（非暴力）不競爭，但是還是讓人猶如上帝那樣觀賞造物，這裡面是有距離的喜劇，但不是喜劇的距離。我們現在的問題不是活在地獄裡（你早就知道了），而是距離天堂太近了，天堂和地獄到底有什麼區別？

我笑得真的好开心，媒体场观影氛围格外好！结尾彩蛋目不暇接，我都跟着鼓掌了，造梦感很强！
在《楚門的世界》《她》《頭號玩家》等類似主題前作的基礎上進一步創作而成的商業電影。眾多NPC在某種（可能幼稚的）革命理念下達成聯合、開展罷工，本是影片具有政治經濟學意味的情節段落。但顯然影片最終放弃了這條集體主義的進路，又回到了高度個人化的情感，並以同資本家的讓步性、私利性的商業談判，作為虛擬世界的烏托邦理想的實踐和完成方式。IMAX 3D版，2021年9月6日17:10於金逸花地1號廳。

The Truman Show in the metaverse. 可比Deadpool 2 好看多了，做了半年多游戏项目的我终于能看懂各种游戏梗。背靠迪士尼爸爸真好，啥彩蛋都能有。
质感太像《乐高大电影》了
怎么还是干死资本家那套，什么时候睁眼看看真实的商业世界和游戏营收？
简单直爽，实在是太好看了！前半段在越南搞笑为主，后半段在本土回归暴力，马东锡简直太适合这种憨憨萌了！另外孙锡久太西巴帅了，狠劲十足！这个反派够味！唯一小吐槽一点就是反派招募的两个小弟感觉有点凑数，纯粹就是给主角送人头当沙包用。ps马东锡吐槽了自己手被咬只会在丧尸片里才有，致敬釜山行了哈哈哈！
感觉自己看了114分钟的TikTok，这玩意甚至算不上一部爆米花电影。很难想象这是2021年的电影，浮夸的慢镜头、完全不适合当BGM的流行乐、可能落后行业十年的美术风格，这可能是一部电影摄制的最糟糕的形态。剧情方面都知道它学的是什么，但学得稀烂只能说是东施效颦。
盖在最后要是换一身死侍皮肤就完美了。😂😂😂
如果说《头号玩家》是给整个电子游戏界的情书，那本片就是献给indie games的礼赞了。游戏可以不止有暴力、杀戮和堆数据，像《风之旅人》《去月球》《蔚蓝》这样歌颂正向情绪的小制作依然在这个世界有存在的意义。回到电影本身，其实就是缝合了《西部世界》《楚门秀》《土拨鼠之日》的类型片乱炖，迪士尼如赏赐般给了几个彩蛋变成了全片高潮，也不知道该笑还是无奈。故事反而没有太多好说的，男女主角的感情戏也比较草率，扮演死侍的Ryan Renolds扮演了一个PG13版的死侍，小变态Jodie Comer依然很美，全片最亮眼的却是陷入了魔力麦克依旧没出来的Channin Tatum
最让我感动的竟然是Buddy，就算我们生活于虚空，没有存在的意义和价值，那又怎么样？我开导着我最好的朋友，让他开心，让他觉得这个世界还不算太糟，这就是我存在的价值，哪怕这个世界已如此荒芜，哪怕我们是最渺小卑微的一群人，我们还是要活出自己，我们是自己人生的主人。如果最后上升到生命议题，不局限于小情小爱，这部电影足以封神。
这样的原创剧本包裹一个老派内核的“传统”好莱坞大片在如今简直就是稀有动物。尽管依然存在各种各样对游戏界想当然的理解与刻板印象（找jacksepticeye来客串也没用），好在影片娱乐性与完成度都属及格线上。不过这么一个拥护原创独立制作、鄙视只会出IP衍生的主旨出自已经被达斯米奇收购的大厂，也真挺讽刺的
