The Freebie centers on Darren (Shepard) and Annie (Aselton), a young married couple with an enviable relationship built on love trust and communication. 非常平庸，雷声大雨点小，从南北问题掰扯到教育体制和中产固化，底层失语，每个都轻描淡写贴一块标签，导演最终的落脚点彷佛是需要给理想主义的数学求知埋下种子和伏笔，但也是紧急刹车式操作。
