The Freebie centers on Darren (Shepard) and Annie (Aselton), a young married couple with an enviable relationship built on love trust and communication. When a dinner party conversation leads to an honest discussion about the state of their love life, and when a sexy bikini photo shoot leads to crossword puzzles instead of sex, they begin to flirt with a way to spice things up. 弗兰马汀诺再一次以领袖的身份宣示了慢电影的姿态。他像梭罗一样告诉我们：工业向上，电影向下。到达洞穴时那快乐的手势和死亡到来时的平静交织，最终在云雾缭绕中听到那不知从何而来的声音，像是一种天启。慢电影最终是一种超验主义。
延续了《四次》的拍摄风格，静谧而广阔。但是由于叙事元素增加了，缺少了《四次》里那种世外桃源般的意境，也没有了自然万物和宇宙连通的轮回之味，但仍能感觉到时间在这里放佛停止了流淌。（BJIFF/Day12/Scene37）【三里屯】
