The Freebie centers on Darren (Shepard) and Annie (Aselton), a young married couple with an enviable relationship built on love trust and communication. 黑白色调加上穿插纪录片形式是对味的，透过一大一小的对话流露出对当今社会的深层忧虑，但整个过程有些缺乏情感，只是打着亲情和孩童旗号探讨严肃议题，成年人的心机是藏不住的。

68/100 抱歉虽然看似比较温柔但对焦虑的我来说太鸡汤了，典型的“好看、暖心”，对纽约多族裔孩子的关怀也看起来比较不痛不痒，姿态还是太高了，仍让观众觉得保有距离，仅在表面上、礼貌地面对问题、纠纷或危机。导演太自我满足了，我宁愿去重看《爱丽丝城市漫游记》。
孩子们看待世界的方式是那样不同，在他们的框架中事物的界限是那样分明，你有时会觉得他们还是过于天真，有时却会被他们随口说出的深刻所震撼。尽管除了欢喜之外他们也有很多自己的烦恼，也有很多愤怒和悲伤，但都是那样的灵动鲜活。
四年、五年，拍一部别人三年拍2部的，真·不紧不慢
不断沟通，不断思考，城市街道都跟着情绪在变化。不断追问也是认识周围世界的方式，跟他人建立联系，化解问题。男主角其实就有一种有超能力，就是不断的提问和思考，并努力努力再努力的寻找答案。
